About Us
LA Sharp brings together a group of seasoned musicians who offer an accessible and captivating take on the classics and rare tunes alike. Having played in gypsy and swing combos together for nearly a decade, this project sees them bringing the vocalist-led stylings of 50s and 60s era jazz to a modern audience.
This jazz project is vocalist Lee-Ann Sharp's heart come alive. The band has always liked to develop unique arrangements of hidden gems and standards alike, and this era of jazz feels like home.

Lee-Ann Sharp - vocals/bandleader
Lee-Ann Sharp has been learning songs and carving out her own voice in music since she can remember (she wanted to sing like her big sister who was off to college when she was a mere 7 years old). She has sung in various collaborative music projects most of her life.
Lee-Ann has worked professionally in music as a singer, band member, section leader and orchestra business manager. She has trained with classical and jazz voice teachers, soloed with classical vocal ensembles and orchestras and sung in americana, pop and rock bands.
After years of singing different styles of music, Lee-Ann found that her truest voice came alive singing jazz. She’s been singing at private and public gigs with Mid-Century Modern bandmates Pete Wojtowicz (bass) since 2008, John Garza (guitar) since 2012 and Jacob Fawcett (drums) since 2016. Her biggest vocal jazz influences are Lena Horne, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Anita O'Day, Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughan, Astrud Gilberto and Johnny Hartman.
